The artwork of Ibrahima Thiam ranges from intimate portraiture to innovative street photography as he captures and reinvents the visual language of everyday life with particular inspiration from the history of African studio portrait photography. His dialogue with Joseph L. Underwood (Art Historian and Curator) will address challenges that face artists in Africa as they navigate the contemporary art world and art markets, from education to collectives, and collectors to biennials.
