We are committed to a holistic approach for exploring what it means to be human, including human biology, social and cultural experience, human-environment interactions, linguistic and artistic expression, and evolutionary processes from the deep past to the present. We examine humanity from the diverse perspectives anthropology has to offer—and we travel the globe to do so.
Research conducted within our department results in books, journal publications, projects, and innovative teaching across the span of the natural sciences, the social sciences, and the humanities.
