This year we celebrate Mike Wasserman, who was awarded Tenure and Promotion to Associate Professor of Anthropology.
Mike joined the department in 2016 and splits his appointment between Anthropology and the Human Biology Program. His Primate Environmental Endocrinology Lab (PEEL) is located in MSB II, and there he and his research team of post-docs, graduate and undergraduate students study how ecological interactions and global environmental change driven by human activity affect primates via the endocrine and immune systems, as well as the gut microbiome. They study primates, including humans, around the world, in Uganda, Costa Rica, and Panama, and maintain collaborations across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
