Join us as we debunk misconceptions and discuss ways in which film has misguided our understanding of primates, the places they live, and the people who surround them. Graduate student Tessa Steiniche will share her research on how land-use change is linked with primate exposure to chemical pollutants, and the ecological and evolutionary implications of these interactions. See clips from popular films in a new light and get an anthropologist's perspective on what studying primates in the wild can teach us about environmental and human health.
This event will also feature a pop-up library and pizza for attendees.
