June 2–22, 3 credits
ANTH X477, Prof. Brian Gilley
Study Abroad on the Amalfi Coast of Italy this summer! Instruction is in English. You will be based in Salerno, a modern port town with a medieval city at its core, and will visit sites to observe artisanal food producers, learn to cook, and make connections between local food heritages and cultural identity. You’ll learn to make pizza from a UNESCO certified chef, visit Ancient Greek and Roman archaeological sites (Pompeii and Paestum), learn to make paper, and engage with families through homestays.
