Anthropologists hold positions in museums of natural history, anthropology, archaeology, and science and technology. With over 700 such institutions in the United States alone, these jobs range from entry level positions to advanced curatorial positions at large research museums.

Anthropologists also serve as education officers and coordinators in education and outreach programs with museums, assisting with exhibits and publications. They help develop both on-site and traveling exhibits, manage collections, administer museums, and oversee publications.
