MacKenzie holds BAs in English and History from University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Before coming to IU, she studied economics, material heritage preservation, and conflict at University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. MacKenzie is an archaeologist in the Social Context track, interested in heritage, identity, museums, material culture, and education. Along with Mecca Burris, she researches teen food security in the Indiana Uplands, funded through the Center for Rural Engagement.
