Practicum (PCT)
- Above class requires permission of instructor
- P: Junior or senior anthropology majors with consent of instructor
- Above class graded on S/F basis only
This class offers advanced undergraduate students the opportunity to work closely with anthropology faculty and graduate students (AIs) in implementing course objectives in undergraduate anthropology courses. Students are not required to have taken the course for which they intern, however, in some cases having taken the class is an asset. In addition to their classroom responsibilities, interns are required to participate in and contribute to weekly reflections (both in-person and asynchronous) that integrate various aspects of teaching. These discussions will require students to do reflective, analytical thinking, giving examples of the work that they have produced as part of their intern position, preparing explanations of how they assisted in various class activities, and providing comments on their experience as an intern.
