In December 2020, Eduardo Brondizio was elected as a foreign member (‘associated member’) of the Academie d’Agriculture de France, in particular to the session “Rural Economies and policies”. Brondizio joins deceased IU faculty Elinor Ostrom who was elected to the same session of the academy in 2010. The academy was founded in 1761 and is very active today. Dedicated to “Agriculture, Nourishment, and Environment” current efforts include issues related to rural development, food and nutrition, territory and environment, and agricultural policies and sciences in general.
