Prior to coming to IU, Dafna received a BA in Cultural Studies from Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and an MA in Anthropology from the University of Alberta. She is interested in researching how different states regulate sex and sexuality. Her current research enquires about sex work in Ukraine: she looks at how Ukrainian sex workers legitimize sex work as an acceptable way of earning and discursively distinguish it from other illegal activities. Dafna is interested in the ethnographies of informalities and of post/socialism.
