Greetings on a beautiful early summer day in Bloomington!
I hope this newsletter finds you all well and thriving in whatever life activities you’re engaged in. It’s been another busy year here in the Anthropology department, with many changes afoot.
In January we welcomed Kristen Murphy as the new advisor for our Anthropology majors and minors. Kristen also serves as the advisor for Geography and the BAESS degree (Environmental and Sustainability Studies) and the Food Studies Certificate.
We are delighted to announce Tony Webster as the new editor for the journal Anthropological Linguistics, which has been published by the Anthropology department at IU since 1959.
This year we had our first in person graduation and awards ceremony since 2019! We were able to celebrate the accomplishments of our undergraduate majors and our MA and PhD students, as well as milestones and awards for faculty.
